Another Thunderegg Days Festival is in the memory book. The Chamber works very hard to bring this event to Nyssa for our community and visitors to enjoy. We hope you had a great time! Suggestions and volunteers are needed to make Thunderegg Days a great event. You can contact the Nyssa Chamber at nyssachamber@gmail.com with suggestions or to volunteer to help next year.
An enthusiastic crowd enjoyed "Get Back" a Beatles tribute band on Saturday night. Many also enjoyed the Chamber's annual BBQ rib dinner. Lip smackin' good! The Nyssa Volunteer Fire Department had a dunk tank which was fun to watch....it was a warm day so the dunkees didn't seem to mind cooling off when someone hit the dunk button. Thanks NVFD for all you do for our community!
There were 15 cars headed out bright and early for the rock tour. Saturday is always Thunderegg day...I didn't get to see the group when they returned, but am certain everyone found an egg or two (or three....) Thanks Walt for being a great rock guide!
Thank you to everyone who helped out, we can't do this event without volunteers! To our vendors, we appreciate you...it wouldn't be an event without the food, rocks, gems and artisans. And a special thanks to everyone who came to enjoy Thunderegg Days...Nyssa residents, Malheur County residents as well as visitors from Idaho, Washington, California, Virginia, British Columbia Canada and others who may not have signed our guest book. Thanks for participating in the 48th Annual Thunderegg Days Festival. See you next year!

Day 2 - a hot time in the ol town today!
My goodness today was a busy day in Nyssa. The rock tour took off bright and early searching for pink plume and everyone found nice specimens for their collection. It was a beautiful day to be in the great outdoors.
Back in Nyssa on the shady Nyssa Elementary School grounds Day 2 of Thunderegg Days was rockin' and rollin' with over 90 cars rollin' into town for the Thunder in the Streets Car Show. The Class of 2014 held their Mexican Dinner Fundraiser and sold out! The proceeds will go toward their graduation party next May. Thank you to everyone who helped with this endeavor. One of the comments the Chamber heard often today (from both vendors and visitors) is how much a community event Thunderegg Days. Our small town event has a great atmosphere. Today, we had visitors from Virginia, British Columbia, California and Idaho. The car show has a dedicated team of volunteers led by Linda Aman and Donnie Shuster. This car show was the best ever! Thanks volunteers, sponsors and participants. Fantasy Karaoke was there for our evening entertainment...YOU! And potential "stars" started lining up 1/2 hour before the show began. All ages participated and it was a lot of fun. We broke an attendance record tonight with 630+ people on the grounds at 8PM
And that was just Thunderegg Days....The 68th Annual Nyssa Nite Rodeo started tonight, with the rodeo parade, pre-rodeo and rodeo events. Richard Mejia and Dave Page were posthumously honored for their many years of involvement and dedication to the Nyssa Nite Rodeo. Good ride, cowboys...we miss you! Rodeo action continues tomorrow night.

Day 1 - let's rock!
Day 1 was a great opening day. A good crowd and happy vendors. Nyssa Mayor Mark Stringer made his "Mayor's Choice" selection at the quilt show. You are invited to vote for your favorite quilt. The NHS Football Team's Chicken Dinner was a sold out event. Thank you Nyssa community for your support. (Tomorrow night is the Class of 2014 Mexican Dinner.)
Mariachai De Mi Tierra performed to an enthusiastic crowd. The Outlaw Lawnmower Dragsters reved up their engines racing on Good Avenue. It was fun to be there, visit with friends and neighbors, enjoy good food, good music and an awesome event. We even had a short shower followed by a beautiful double rainbow!
On another note....horse trailers have been rolling into town all afternoon as contestants arrive for the Nyssa Nite Rodeo which opens tomorrow. "Tails and "Tailpipes" parade at 4:30!

Rocks and more!
Vendors have been arriving and setting up for tomorrow's opening of the 48th Annual Thunderegg Days Festival. We have vendors outside on the beautiful, shady grounds of Nyssa Elementary School and inside Mac Hall where you will also find rock displays, the quilt show, breakfast every morning and fundraiser dinners each evening. At the food court you will find Mexican food, Hawaiian food, hot dogs, finger steaks, lemonade and a whole lot more. The rock tours depart at 7AM...you can purchase a box lunch at the Chamber office. Moss agate is the rock we're looking for. There's lots to do and see....come to Nyssa, the Thunderegg Capitol of the World!
