Day 2 - a hot time in the ol town today!

My goodness today was a busy day in Nyssa. The rock tour took off bright and early searching for pink plume and everyone found nice specimens for their collection. It was a beautiful day to be in the great outdoors.
Back in Nyssa on the shady Nyssa Elementary School grounds Day 2 of Thunderegg Days was rockin' and rollin' with over 90 cars rollin' into town for the Thunder in the Streets Car Show. The Class of 2014 held their Mexican Dinner Fundraiser and sold out! The proceeds will go toward their graduation party next May. Thank you to everyone who helped with this endeavor. One of the comments the Chamber heard often today (from both vendors and visitors) is how much a community event Thunderegg Days. Our small town event has a great atmosphere. Today, we had visitors from Virginia, British Columbia, California and Idaho. The car show has a dedicated team of volunteers led by Linda Aman and Donnie Shuster. This car show was the best ever! Thanks volunteers, sponsors and participants. Fantasy Karaoke was there for our evening entertainment...YOU! And potential "stars" started lining up 1/2 hour before the show began. All ages participated and it was a lot of fun. We broke an attendance record tonight with 630+ people on the grounds at 8PM
And that was just Thunderegg Days....The 68th Annual Nyssa Nite Rodeo started tonight, with the rodeo parade, pre-rodeo and rodeo events. Richard Mejia and Dave Page were posthumously honored for their many years of involvement and dedication to the Nyssa Nite Rodeo. Good ride, cowboys...we miss you! Rodeo action continues tomorrow night.
